This latest edition of our collaborative exhibitions, In Bloom, presents a selection of paintings and works on paper by emerging artist Nisha Boehm. Boehm explores the relationship between flowers and femininity through vibrant, expressive works that celebrate nature and the journey from girlhood to womanhood. Beginning with sketches made from nature, she develops fluid compositions that balance realism and abstraction, drawing viewers into richly layered organic forms.

Growing up in Hong Kong continues to shape Boehm’s visual language. The city’s energy and flower markets, filled with orchids, peonies and lilies, inspire both her palette and subject matter. Lilies - her mother’s favourite flower - recur throughout her work, adding a deeply personal stamp.

Working across canvas and paper, and occasionally embellishing her paintings with pearls and beads, Boehm celebrates both the delicate and untamed qualities of blooms while referencing traditions of femininity and craft. Rich with colour, movement and joy, her works capture fleeting moments of nature forever in bloom.
